Your 2025 SEO strategy checklist: Phase 1: Audit Crawl your website with a tool like Screaming Frog (connect GA/GSC/other data) and export as a CSV. Enter each URL into Search Console or Ahrefs and find its best-ranking keywords. Add them to your spreadsheet. Audit each blog post and assign actions (Leave, Merge, Delete, Update, Rewrite). Phase 2: Quick Wins Identify technical fixes in your audit like internal linking, canonical tags, 301 redirects, sitemap, etc. Find ways to optimise your existing pages for the keywords found in your audit (new sections, updates, headings, snippets/AI Overviews). Phase 3: Customer Research Talk to, survey and/or interview your customers to learn: - Problems before finding your product - Features they bought it for (and use) - Why your product vs other solutions - Other solutions they considered - How it solves their problems Phase 4: Topic Research Enter your competitors' websites in a tool like Ahrefs and export their keywords to reverse-engineer their SEO. Identify ‘seed’ keywords from your customer research and use general brainstorming to start your research. Enter your ‘seeds’ into a tool like Ahrefs and use the ‘Matching terms’ report to find topics to target. Identify topics to build landing pages around the different features or solutions your product offers. Identify bottom funnel topics like competitor comparisons, competitor alternatives, and best-of guides. Identify middle funnel topics like how-to guides, templates, tips, and anything relating to customer problems. Identify top funnel topics like glossaries (e.g. ‘what is X'), topic vs topic, ‘ideas’ lists, and anything to capture awareness. Phase 5: Content Plan Collate all identified topics into a simple spreadsheet to execute over the following months. Prioritise your content ideas by ease of ranking, commercial intent and potential traffic. Strategy done. - Fix your technical issues - Optimise your existing content - Create new content from your plan - Scale content production with AI (like Byword) And don’t stop.

Why no one is funding your startup idea? You have prepared the best pitch deck but investors don’t see the opportunity.  Great idea + Plan ≠ Best investor pitch.  “𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴. 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗳.” Investors fund proof: proof that people want your product, proof that you can build and ship, and proof that you can hustle. If you seek capital without that proof, you're likely to either face rejection or give away too much equity too early. Want to build a startup but not sure how to begin without funding? Read this before you chase VCs. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘁𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴. 1. Start with a problem, not a product.  - Don’t jump into building features or picking tech stacks.  - Talk to 25–50 real people. Listen hard.  - Let their pain points guide you, not your assumptions. 2. Build fast. Build scrappy.  - No need for a full-blown app.  - Use Webflow, Bubble, Google Sheets + Zapier, whatever gets the job done.  - Build a landing page. Solve one core problem. That’s enough. 3. Launch before you feel ready.  - Share on: LinkedIn, WhatsApp or Reddit.  - Ask for honest feedback. Iterate.  - Your first users don’t expect perfection, they want usefulness. 4. Think of some monetisation.  - Charging something > Free forever.  - Even one paying user = validation + boost.  - If no one will pay a tiny amount now, why would they pay later? 5. Keep costs super lean.  - Avoid hiring, offices, ads, or expensive branding.  - Solo? Cool. Co-founder? Great.  - Use open-source tools. 6. Build in public.  - Post updates, wins, and struggles on LinkedIn, X, or Medium.  - Your story builds credibility and can attract users, or even investors. 7. Got a day job? No problem. - Block 2 focused hours daily. - Use them to build, launch, or talk to users. - This is how side projects become real startups. Bootstrapping isn't about doing everything. It's about doing the right things with whatever you have. #Bootstrapping #StartupTips #BuildInPublic #EarlyStageFounders #NoCode #ProductValidation #IndieHackers #LeanStartup #StartupJourney #EntrepreneurMindset

Stop throwing money at random SEO "hacks". The hard truth? 92% of web pages get ZERO organic traffic. Most "SEO experts" sell complexity. But success leaves clues. I turned an underdog site with little online presence into a $15k/mo powerhouse in 6 months. Here’s how you can do the same: 1. Go for low-competition keywords 🔑: Don’t fight DR90 giants for high-volume keywords. Use Ahrefs Content Explorer to find low-DR sites ranking for keywords with solid traffic but have almost no backlinks. Getting this initial traffic signals trust with Google, allowing you to rank for more lucrative keywords later. 2. Turn traffic into conversions 🎯: Your informational content should funnel readers to your revenue-generating content with smart UX. Use inline CTAs, contextual links, and sticky sidebars. They’re simple tweaks that drive massive results. Get the custom related posts plugin on WordPress to ensure your highest-earning pages always appear first in suggested posts. 3. Get juicy links using Digital PR 📄: Create newsworthy stories and pitch them to journalists. Think trending topics with a niche spin—ChatGPT is great for coming up with ideas. Tools like Prowly or Muck Rack can help you find journalists who care about your niche. A single link from a seed site like The New York Times or Washington Post is gold for your rankings. 4. Fix your technical SEO 👷: Keep URLs short, keyword-optimized, and free of unnecessary parameters. Optimize images—use proper sizing, compression (Smush), and lazy loading to speed up load times. Minify CSS and JavaScript to remove unnecessary code and improve performance. These backend fixes pay off fast. 5. Stay consistent ❤️🔥: SEO is a long game. It’s all about pairing strategy with execution. You don’t need a DR90 site to win—you just need to be smarter and more deliberate than the competition.

How to Build a Bootstrapped Startup for Lean and Efficient Growth? Ever thought about launching your startup without taking on hefty loans or chasing investors? Bootstrapping could be your ticket to lean and efficient growth. Let's dive into some real-life success stories: 1. 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥, 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐁𝐢𝐠: 𝐍𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐖𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐬. ➡ Noise, the Indian smart wearable brand, started with a simple idea and a minimal budget. ➡ They didn't have millions in funding but focused on what mattered most: understanding their customers. ➡ By listening to user feedback and iterating on their products, Noise grew from a small brand into a market leader. 2. 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: 𝐙𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐡𝐚'𝐬 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬. ➡ Zerodha, the discount brokerage firm, is a shining example of prioritizing profitability over rapid expansion. ➡ They didn't rush to scale or seek external funding. Instead, they focused on creating a robust, customer-friendly platform. ➡ Their lean approach and commitment to keeping costs low helped them become the largest retail stockbroker in India. 3. 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞, 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐤𝐬: 𝐙𝐨𝐡𝐨'𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭 𝐒𝐚𝐮𝐜𝐞. ➡ Zoho, the software giant, has always emphasized investing in their people rather than flashy perks. ➡ They focus on employee development and creating a productive work environment. ➡ This approach has enabled them to innovate continuously and stay competitive without needing to pump money into extravagant benefits. 4. 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐨𝐰-𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐓𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬. ➡ When bootstrapping, every penny counts. ➡ Use free or affordable tools for marketing, project management, and communication. ➡ Platforms like Canva, Slack, and Trello can help you operate efficiently without breaking the bank. 5. 𝐁𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐏𝐢𝐯𝐨𝐭. ➡ The path to success is rarely a straight line. ➡ Be prepared to pivot when necessary. ➡ Swiggy and Zomato, both strong in food delivery, have pivoted to quick commerce, seeing much higher growth rates. ➡ Recently, Deepinder Goyal has been quoted as saying he sees Blinkit as a bigger growth driver than the current food delivery business. 6. 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲. ➡ Engage with your audience through social media, forums, and events. ➡ Building a community around your brand not only helps in understanding your customers better but also creates loyal advocates who can spread the word about your product or service. What's your favorite bootstrapped success story, and what lesson can we learn from it? #Startup #Bootstrapping #LeanGrowth #Entrepreneurship #BusinessTips

WHY DO TRANSFORMATIONS FAIL? Business transformations often falter, not due to a lack of effort, but because of fundamental misunderstandings about the relationship between strategy and change. Here's a look at the real reasons transformations stumble: 1. STRATEGIC AMBIGUITY: THE SILENT KILLER Vague strategies like "becoming more flexible and agile" are transformation poison. They offer no concrete direction and create conflicting demands between efficiency and innovation. The antidote? Craft a razor-sharp strategy with clear, purposeful tradeoffs. Remember: strategy IS change. Treat them as one and the same. 2. PROCESS WORSHIP vs ORGANISATIONAL REALITY Processes don't shape behaviour – structure does. Your carefully crafted collaboration initiative will crumble if your organizational design reinforces siloed thinking. The fix? Align your organisation design with your strategic intent. Structure trumps process every time. 3. THE BIOLOGY OF RISK AND UNCERTAINTY Prolonged transformations breed anxiety, triggering a physiological "risk aversion" response. Cortisol levels spike, innovation plummets. The solution? Opt for short, intense bursts of change rather than drawn-out campaigns. Keep the momentum high and the uncertainty low. 4. STIFLING NATURAL ADAPTABILITY Rigid transformation playbooks suffocate your people's innate ability to adapt. Engagement dies when employees feel like cogs in a machine. Instead, foster reflection and empower informal leaders. Let your people own the change, not just execute it. 5. THE LEADER'S QUANTUM DILEMMA Leaders, beware the observer effect. Just as in quantum mechanics, your intense focus on one aspect of the organisation (efficiency) can cause another (effectiveness) to collapse. People do what is 'inspected' - not what is 'expected'. Be deliberate in where you shine the spotlight. The path to successful transformation isn't paved with buzzwords and rigid methodologies. It's forged through strategic clarity, organisational alignment, and a deep understanding of human nature. Embrace these principles, and your transformation will have a fighting chance at success. I spoke with a D2C brand that had skyrocketed its organic traffic yet their daily orders were still flat. They came to me expecting a quick SEO fix. But as I dug deeper, I realized what they needed was a strategic framework —an integrated set of choices that would drive not just visitors, but profitable orders. Initial Situation: ➜ 10x increase in daily clicks (from almost nothing to 2,000/day) ➜ Average Order Value (AOV) surprisingly low ➜ Order volume: virtually unchanged despite the traffic surge Problem Identification: Why wasn’t all that new traffic turning into sales? The brand had invested in SEO, yes—but without aligning content strategy with top-selling SKUs, profit margins, demographics, and their unique value proposition. ❌ They chased visibility, not viability. Process (Our Discovery Call): I asked questions like: ➜ Top-selling SKUs? ➜ High-margin categories? ➜ Core audience and demographics? ➜ Product Differentiators vs. competition? ➜ Customer repeat purchase cycles? By understanding these, I identified where intent-rich opportunities matched their strongest business levers. What We Did Next (The Proposal): I presented a tailored SEO program that went beyond “just more traffic.” It focused on: a) Where we choose to play: Pinpointing search opportunities that have a short time to value of results. b) How we choose to win: Mapping keywords to product categories with favourable Search Volume, Keyword Difficulty (KD), and Average Order Value. I presented them a scatter chart of commercial-intent keywords plotted by: ➜ Search Volume ➜ Keyword Difficulty ➜ Potential AOV Impact This instantly clarified the path forward. Instead of random traffic, we were going after the right traffic. The prospect’s reaction? He said no previous proposal had offered this level of strategic clarity. It’s easy to chase vanity metrics (traffic, rankings, clicks), but without aligning your SEO strategy to business goals, you’ll never see the revenue catch up. Stop treating SEO as a game of traffic. ➡️ Treat it as a strategic tool that positions you in front of high-intent audiences. ➡️ It’s not about playing everywhere—it’s about winning in the right places. If you’re looking to make strategic choices—on Google, Bing, or next-gen platforms like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude —and you want to translate visibility into growth, let’s talk. I’d be excited to help you map your SEO opportunities to real business outcomes.

I've audited 100s of websites. The biggest issue? Poor SEO. Why? Because good SEO is hard. This is what I find in most website audits. The good thing is, there's a way to fix this. It starts with an in-depth Website Quality Audit. We pull insights from 5 key tools: - GA - GSC - Ahrefs - Hotjar/Clarity - Screaming Frog Then focus on: 1/ Technical Issues - Pinpointing errors, speed issues, and UX problems. 2/ On-Page SEO for Key Pages: - Analysing meta tags, headings, content quality, and link use. 3/ Internal Link Structure: - Ensuring SEO value spreads effectively across the site. 4/ Content Strategy Review: - Implementing a "Hub and Spoke" model for blogs and resources. 5/ Backlinks and Relevance: - Assessing how you stack up against competitors in DR and backlinks. Identifying problems allows us to strategise their elimination. This is what we do for clients. 1/ Low-hanging fruit Categorise and prioritise pages for improvement based on: - Performance - Current metrics - Potential for improvement i.e., keywords ranking between 4-20. We then focus on achieving some “quick wins”. This increases traffic to important pages with the highest opportunity for growth. 2/ Internal Linking Having high page authority is important. One way to leverage this is through internal linking. It sends strong signals to Googlebot about the relative importance of a page. Strategy is important here. We take advantage of pages with high authority. This spreads some of that page’s authority to other pages. And makes it more likely to rank for its keywords. 3/ Content Strategy Often, a few pieces of content generate most of the traffic. Improving the quality and relevance of existing content can increase ranking and traffic. We refresh or rewrite content with high potential for traffic and leads. And for future content: - Topical targeting - New keyword research - Content calendar (regular and timely publishing) We create detailed outlines for writers so they can write high-value content for the website. 4/ Targeted link acquisition External backlinks tell search engines that your website is popular and authoritative. (But only if the websites are relevant) We work on acquiring contextual links. → an organic mention within the body of an article on a relevant, authoritative website. This is part of the process to improve SEO in our Website Growth Plans. Each plan is tailored based on the existing website and goals. Want to improve your ranking and increase traffic? Transformations look different. Their failure patterns don’t. Nearly 70% of transformations fall short. Whether you're pivoting your organization to AI-native or reinventing your own career, the gaps are similar: weak buy-in and fragile resilience. In my transition programs, over half of leaders struggle not with clarity of ambition, but with sustaining singular focus amid competing pulls. In organizations, misalignment at the top cascades downward, creating confusion, delay, and quiet resistance. Data consistently shows that employee buy-in and active sponsorship are among the strongest predictors of transformation success. At an individual level, we declare bold goals but don’t protect them with focused commitment. Competing priorities dilute intent. Energy gets scattered. At an organizational level, the pattern repeats at scale. A strategy may be sharp, but if leaders and teams are not truly sold on it, progress slows or stalls. Buy-in isn’t compliance. It’s the emotional and rational alignment that turns “have to” into “want to.” My 4-Point Buy-In Framework 1️⃣ Shared Why – Co-create: Why this goal? Why now? 2️⃣ Personal Stake – My role, my assumptions, my early wins. 3️⃣ Fear Acknowledgment – Name the losses upfront. 4️⃣ Rhythm of Renewal – Weekly rituals that reinforce conviction. Yet buy-in is only half the equation. The other half is resilience — the courage to stay steady when obstacles surface. In any meaningful transition, adversity is not an exception; it is part of the path. Resilience is built like muscle, through deliberate practice. My 4-Point Resilience Workout 1️⃣Anchor to Future Identity – Act from who you're becoming 2️⃣Build Enabling Systems – Decision clarity, calendar mastery, peer accountability 3️⃣Protect Energy & Wellbeing – Physical, emotional, and cognitive stamina. 4️⃣Learn in Motion – Setbacks = system feedback, not failure. Impossible transitions don’t demand perfection. They demand belief, and the stamina to keep moving. #ImpossibleTransition #Buyin #Resilience

A startup overspending after a successful fundraise? Surprisingly common.   The more you celebrate your fundraise, the faster you need another one. In the early stages, every rupee spent should either bring you closer to PMF or strategically support extending your runway. Yet, after a fundraise we see fancy offices, too many hires, avoidable travel or upgrading tools prematurely. I've seen how quickly things go off track when money is spent without clarity. Being frugal early sets the stage for long-term growth. Here are 10 ways startups can stay frugal without losing momentum: 1.    Delay expensive offices. During early stages, remote work and co-working spaces can keep overheads low and offer more flexibility as you grow. 2.    Hire for attitude and potential. Look for adaptability and passion for your mission. Skills can be learned, but a strong, growth-oriented mindset is invaluable. 3.    Keep teams lean and roles flexible. A small, multi-skilled team can quickly adapt to changing needs, ensuring resources go towards key areas of growth. 4.    Use no-code and low-code tools. These can help you move quickly and save costs, especially when you're testing ideas or validating concepts. 5.    Prioritize pilots over perfection. Instead of spending months perfecting your product, launch an MVP, get feedback and iterate quickly based on real user needs. 6.    Negotiate everything. Ask for startup discounts on software subscriptions and service providers. Your startup status can often unlock better deals. 7.    Focus on customer-funded growth. Prioritize revenue-generating activities — subscriptions, product sales, service fees — rather than relying too heavily on outside funding. 8.    Be obsessed with ROI. Question how each expense contributes to growth or PMF. Make every investment intentional and justified. 9.    Measure marketing ROI. Track campaign performance with analytics to ensure every marketing rupee generates measurable returns. 10. Reward outcomes, not optics. Encourage a culture where results matter most, not appearances. THE OTHER SIDE OF FRUGALITY While frugality is key, balance is equally important. Keep these counterpoints in mind: ◾️Physical office spaces can enhance team bonding, collaboration. ◾️Specialized experience in technical or senior roles can make a critical difference in execution. ◾️No-code tools may create limitations as you scale, so evaluate long-term needs before committing fully. ◾️An overly rushed MVP might lead to negative customer feedback that's hard to recover from. ◾️Obsessing over short-term ROI might prevent necessary investments in brand-building or talent. ◾️Some marketing strategies may not show immediate returns but can deliver significant long-term value. Frugality requires deliberate choices. But balance it with strategic investments to drive efficiency and long-term success. What frugality hacks have worked well for you? #startups #leadership #entrepreneurship #execution
