If more of your store sales start on TikTok lately, you might wanna read this. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘥𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘳 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘦. The checkout happens in-store. But the sale happens everywhere else. Here's the reality: This year 60%+, and in 2027, 70% of retail sales will be digitally influenced. I can't emphasize this enough; here's what most brands miss—digital influence isn't just about online sales. It's about shaping every moment before the customer even walks into your store. L'Oréal cracked this code: 100M+ AR try-on sessions driving real conversions. 31 brands orchestrating seamless experiences across 72 countries. No.1 in beauty influencer marketing (29% market share), 20-80% higher conversion rates through enhanced digital experiences. The new customer journey isn't linear—it's layered: - They discover you on social - Research you through reviews and UGC - Try your product virtually through AR - Get retargeted with personalized content - Finally purchase in-store (feeling confident they're making the right choice) Every touchpoint matters, and every interaction influences the final decision. The brands winning today aren't just selling products—they're orchestrating experiences across owned, paid, and earned media that guide customers from curiosity to checkout. Digital discovery is increasingly pay-to-play and shoppers are paying attention. ++ Tactical Recommendations for CPG / FMCG Brands ++ 1. Beyond just having perfect, high SOV product pages, create discovery ecosystems. - Optimize for "zero-moment-of-truth" searches. - Activate shoppable content at scale. - Leverage user-generated content as social proof. Brands that do these see a 35% higher conversion rate from digital touchpoints to in-store purchases. 2. Connect digital engagement directly to retail execution. - Geo-target digital campaigns to drive foot traffic - Create "store-specific" digital content CPG brands using geo-targeted social ads see a 23% higher in-store sales lift in targeted markets. 3. Most important one; stop flying blind—measure digital influence on offline sales. - Implement unique promo codes for each digital touchpoint to track conversion paths. - Use customer surveys at point of purchase. - Partner with retailers on shared data insights Brands with proper attribution see 15-25% improvement in marketing ROI within 12 months. Most brands spend lacs pushing products on social media. We spent ₹0 on and focused on this type of content to grow 10X faster. Here's the shift that changed everything: Most brands fail at social media because they focus too much on selling. Their feeds are: - endless product catalogs - discount announcements - and sales pitches. That's why audience growth stays stagnant and selfish content becomes the norm. To flip the script, you have to stop selling continuously and start gaining people's trust. When we created a strategy with 80% focus on audience-centric content and 20% promotion, everything changed. - Engagement tripled - DMs flooded with queries - and sales grew organically The blueprint that works for brands is as follows: - Answer audience's questions, break myths, misconceptions, and more - Create how-to content that makes your audience trust your knowledge - Share behind-the-scenes that makes others feel like a community - Turn product features into relatable content for everyone Simply put, we must shift the focus from the product to the people and make them the hero of your brand. As a result, you can have a growing community of engaged individuals who trust you and your products. Your social media isn't your shopping catalog. Make it your classroom, your stage, your way to make a difference. 💭 Are you making selfish content or selfless? #socialmedia #brands #strategy

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐄-𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞 – 𝟓 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬 Chinese #eCommerce is evolving rapidly. Unlike in the West Chinese platforms focus on creating engaging experiences. Björn Ognibeni’s recent workshop highlighted key strategies Western e-commerce could adopt to stay competitive as giants like #Shein, #Temu, and #Alibaba claim global market share. Five lessons: 🛍️ 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲-𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 Chinese platforms transform shopping into an adventure. Instead of bland product lists, they use discovery feeds inspired by TikTok and Instagram, where products are part of the content experience. Remember flipping through an IKEA catalog? Today’s digital version uses visually engaging, scrollable designs with video content and live shopping, making online shopping a time-killer that could seriously compete with Netflix. 🛍️ 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 Typical product pages often look functional but uninspiring. Chinese sites take a different approach with interactive features, videos, 360-degree views, and integrated user reviews. This makes the experience immersive and boosts engagement, increasing the likelihood of purchase. 🛍️ 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥-𝐭𝐨-𝐏𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞 In China, shopping blends seamlessly between online and offline. For younger consumers, the "real" world includes both digital and physical experiences. Chinese platforms let users explore products online, try them in-store, or experience them through augmented reality. Western retailers could benefit by enabling customers to test products virtually or even immerse themselves in digital worlds. Platforms like Roblox could become the next big shopping destination. 🛍️ 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐄-𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞 In China, e-commerce is a social event, with chat functions and group video calls allowing friends to shop together. Integrating similar social features could foster real-time engagement on Western platforms. Customers could share reviews, discuss trends, and exchange recommendations, creating a community-driven experience that builds customer loyalty and keeps users engaged longer. 🛍️ 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐊𝐏𝐈𝐬: 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜 While the West focuses heavily on performance metrics, China emphasizes quality customer relationships. KPIs like browsing time and engagement encourage a richer shopping experience, leading to stronger bonds with customers. Instead of paying per click, retailers can establish lasting customer relationships that are often more sustainable and cost-effective. I am convinced that the retailers who come up with completely new shopping concepts first have a great chance of capturing significant market shares. 🤖PS: Sign up for my newsletter #DMEXCO #DigitalDigest to receive articles like that directly in your inbox. • I've always been amazed by how Southeast Asia's eCommerce landscape isn't what people outside the region expect. It's not dominated by glossy marketplaces, but by the raw energy of social media chats. The importance of being tuned into the reality of stakeholders on the ground is key to building for them. Digging into our merchant profiles at Enstack, over 90% of top performers are social sellers processing orders via DMs on platforms like Instagram and Facebook, manually through tools like Cashier, and skipping web-stores altogether. These business owners are building relationships first, sales second, which mirrors the region's trust-based vibe where personal bonds drive loyalty over impersonal carts. This chat-based economy drives billions, but it's completely informal. Sellers juggle multiple apps for payments and shipping, losing precious time that could fuel growth. Still it thrives: integrated shipping is the go-to for 80% of our top 50, with COD heavy in sectors like pet-care (97% usage), reflecting a broader trend toward mobile-first tools that prioritize efficiency without disruption. It's a landscape where sellers prefer to avoid the hidden & high fees that marketplaces come with, opting for direct control to nurture customer ties, much like how sellers in skincare thrive on platforms like Shopee but continue to emphasise direct chats for authenticity. Building intuitive features that streamline existing workflows without disruption, simplifying verification and fulfilment is something we continue to focus on in our effort to address pain points for millions of sellers. We've seen electronics and fashion sellers streamline nationwide deliveries through such seamless integrations, focusing on what they love: connecting with buyers. For us the opportunity that we're building for is crystal clear - as SEA's digital economy grows, the real winners will be platforms that empower these relational models, reducing fraud risks that plague informal setups. It makes me wonder how this chat dominance could reshape strategies for scaling in the region—curious to hear your take in the comments. After all, SEA SMEs and eCommerce hold super high potential, but unlocking it means recognizing the power of these grassroots, chat-driven ecosystems that are already reshaping billions in value. #eCommerce #SoutheastAsia #SMEInsights #TrustEconomy #Enstack Image Credit: cube.asia

🚨One crucial aspect that many businesses and brands tend to overlook when undertaking their social marketing efforts is the social element of these platforms. Most focus solely on pushing information to their audience without actively engaging with them, significantly hurting their overall performance. By not engaging with your audience, you miss out on gaining valuable firsthand perspectives and insights that could help you better position and package yourself to meet their needs. Beyond that, I bet you always wonder how to beat the algorithm, right? One of the most effective ways and undisputed ways is to ensure your audience engages with your content and in turn these platforms will reward you for that by showing your content to more people, thus expanding your reach and visibility. Always keep in mind that, a highly engaging content is the algorithms best friend. So, how do you foster meaningful two-way interactions with your online audience?🤔 1️⃣. Create Engagement-Worthy Content: No one will stop their scroll to pay attention and engage with content that they don't resonate with, relate to, or find catchy, relevant, or valuable. It has to tick one of those boxes. 2️⃣. Create Interactive Content: Leverage features such as polls and quizzes, alongside include clear and compelling calls to action that prompt your audience to respond, share, or participate in discussions. 3️⃣. Share User-Generated Content: Highlight content created by your audience, such as testimonials, queries, or reviews. This not only shows appreciation but also motivates others to engage. 4️⃣. Respond to Comments and Messages: On these social streets, it is a serious mistake not to respond promptly to comments and messages from your online audience as it always leaves a bad impression, and people quickly move on to alternatives where they receive the response they require. And the worst part is, many others are silently watching and drawing conclusions based on that. 5️⃣. Ask for Feedback: Regularly seek your audience's opinions on your products, services, or any aspect of your business. This not only provides valuable insights but also makes your audience feel heard and valued. 🔶By incorporating these strategies, you can transform your online presence from a one-sided information push to a dynamic and engaging platform that fosters meaningful connections with your audience. So, don't remove the "social" from social media. 🔷As a business or brand, how do you promote engagement with your audience? #DigitalMarketing #DigitalMarketingStrategy #LetsGoDigital #DigitalMarketingConsultant

#CustomerRetention in 2025 will be less about generic content and more about building ongoing, meaningful relationships. Social media is the ideal platform for creating these connections at scale. Here’s how: 1️⃣ Proactive Engagement: Use social listening tools to identify when customers mention your brand (directly or indirectly) and respond promptly, even if they don’t tag you. Being proactive shows customers you’re attentive and care about their experience. 2️⃣ Hyper-Personalization: Leverage tools, including AI, to deliver tailored responses, recommendations, or offers based on their behavior and preferences. Make customers feel like you are doing something specifically for them — because you are! 3️⃣ Community Building: Create exclusive social groups, forums, or live sessions where customers can connect with your brand and each other. 4️⃣ Think Conversation: Regularly seek customer feedback via polls, surveys, and open-ended questions on social media. Show them you’re listening by answering quickly, keeping the conversation going, and taking action on suggestions. 5️⃣ Consistent Recognition: Highlight loyal customers through shoutouts, features, or exclusive offers. When customers feel seen and appreciated, they are more likely to stay loyal to your brand. --- 👋 I'm Brooke. 💚 The Social Care lady. 💬 I chat about digital #CX. ➕ Click follow on my profile to see more posts like this. 🫶 Want to work together? Director of Social Media & Content Strategy | Building Organic Functions That Actually Move the Business | Over A Decade with Health & Wellness Brands

The Conversation Economy is here - and it's actually a fun and refreshing evolution in social media. The content side of social media strategy has already evolved in this direction (although I'd argue it has always been this way) - consumers want more content that speaks WITH them, not AT them. They want content that creates or deepens that feeling of connection they have with a brand. Social media content strategy is, and always has been, a two-way conversation. And so sure, it's still important to create and publish content but between the consumer's desire and the platform's algorithm priorities around user-to-user connection - volume of content matters less than it ever has...and that should excite social media managers everywhere! It's now more about social engagements - and no, not inbound ones. Outbound ones. As an example, we've implemented proactive engagement strategies on two of the brands I work on: Our Anytime Fitness team has been working with Overdrive and in 2 months we have already seen our proactive outreach see a potential reach of 909M, driving over 60K additional engagements. Platform-wise, this has driven a 145% increase in profile views, 85% increase in reached audience, and 46% increase in video views on our own content. And we've seen a 43% increase in followers!! Our Waxing The City team (shout out Taylor DeShaw) has been dedicating a small daily time block to proactive engagement, and despite 13 fewer published posts in Q3 vs Q2, we have seen video views increase 70%, our reached audience grow 56%, our profile views increase by 157% and a 72% increase in net follower growth. Organic social is not just about what visuals we can push out, it's about how we can join relevant conversations to engage WITH our consumers side-by-side as a way of building a connection that helps keep the humanness in marketing (and keeps us top of mind). I've said it since day 1 of working in social media: Community management (no, that's not just responding to inbound DMs and comments) is the most underrated part of a successful organic social media strategy. Who else is having fun in the comment sections out there? #socialmediastrategy #Socialmediawins #proactiveengagement #communitymanagement.

If you're a marketing leader still running e-commerce campaigns like it's 2020, you're about to hit a wall. 44% of ALL internet users now start their shopping activity on social media.  Not Google or your website. This isn't a throwaway trend. I've been watching this change happen in real-time. It's a fundamental shift in buying behavior. OLD WORLD Website → Your primary storefront Awareness → Paid search, shopping ads, SEO, marketplace, affiliate sites Customer journey → Centered on website Engagement → Email campaigns, retargeting, abandoned cart sequences Conversion → ~2-3% on websites Customer service → Help desk tickets, emails  Purchase decision → Reviews, product specs, comparison sites Brand building → Professional content, polished ads NEW WORLD Website → One of MANY touchpoints Awareness → Social discovery, influencer content, viral moments Customer journey → Centered on INTERACTIVE experiences Engagement → Direct messaging, comments, real-time interaction Conversion → ~15% through social messaging Customer service → Real-time social DMs, community support Purchase decision → Social proof, UGC, peer recommendations, live Q&A Brand building → Authentic interactions, community creation I can't remember the last time I saw a purely website-centric strategy succeed. The old playbook is breaking. We're witnessing the decay of the traditional e-commerce “funnel”. Tomorrow's e-commerce doesn't chase website traffic or believe in linear customer journeys that live and die by website visits. You'll have to show up where consumers already spend their time - in social feeds and DMs. The market is already picking winners and losers. While established brands struggle with rising CAC and declining (email) engagement, a new breed of social-first brands are thriving. Look at Tree Hut, Prime Time, cocokind, Ro... Watching newer brands get this instinctively excites me the most and I'm hopeful because social lets us scale what makes commerce human - honest answers, social proof, and real connections - without having to rely on mass marketing that treats everyone the same. I'm still figuring out parts of this shift for our customers myself. But I'm certain of one thing - we can't keep treating social as just a top of the funnel channel any more. PS. I started building Scrollmark based on this insight back in 2023. Since then, we've added tons of cool features and helped 50+ mid-market and enterprise customers adopt the NEW WORLD: https://lnkd.in/gtBkmJck
