Emaill marketing is not DEAD. It’s just… boring PAINFULLY boring. Scrolling-through-20-newsletters-while-my-eyes-glaze-over boring. Most brand emails I get?? Lost. Deleted. Gone forever in the abyss between a Sephora sale announcement and a toothpaste subscription reminder. And honestly, can you blame anyone??? Half of these emails still read like: “LAST CHANCE!!!! 20% OFF. BUY. NOW.” It’s giving… 2014 Not Q4 of the most competitive year beauty has ever seen. But here’s the thing, some beauty brands are getting it right!!! There are a feeew things working right now. And It’s actually very simple AND very human! n 1. Storytelling BEATS shouting! Brands like rhode skin, Glossier, Inc. don’t email you. They talk to you. Short. Warm. Editorial. Feels like a friend, not a funnel n 2. Education as currency Kosas emails about ingredients. Summer Fridays emails about routines. Glow Recipe emails about skin moods. They don’t say “BUY.” They say “Here’s something you’ll care about.” n 3. Micro-personalization!!! Not “Hi {FIRST NAME}.” Buuuuut: - shade-based recommendations - refill reminders - behavior-based nudges Not creepy. Just helpful. n 4. Low frequency, high intention The best brands aren’t emailing every day. They’re emailing when they actually have something worth opening. (Shocking, I knowwww, did you even read my last post??) n 5. Design that feels like content, not an ad Less banners. More editorial clean, digestible layouts. Like opening a mini magazine on your phone. Because the thing is.. People don’t actually hate emails. They hate IRRELEVANT emails. So next time, think before sending an email.. If you wouldn’t open it, no one else will... Email isn’t dying. Bad content is!

I just deleted 147 cold emails without reading them. Here’s what they all got wrong: Every morning, my inbox looks the same. A flood of pitches from people trying to sell me something. Most days, I just mass delete them. But this morning, I decided to actually read through them first. Within 5 minutes, I spotted a pattern. Everyone was making the exact same mistake. They were all trying to close the deal. ALL IN THE FIRST MESSAGE 🥵 Let me show you what I mean (with two small examples): APPROACH A: "The Wall of Text" Send 100 cold emails with full pitch, calendar link, and case studies. • 3 people open • 0 responses • 0 intros This looks exactly like the 147 emails I just deleted "Hi [Name], I noticed your company is scaling fast! We help companies like yours optimize their marketing stack through our proprietary AI technology. Our clients see 300% ROI within 90 days. Here's my Calendly link to book a 15-min chat: [LINK]. Looking forward to connecting! Best, [Name]" BORING!!! APPROACH B: "Micro Conversations" Same 100 prospects, broken down into micro-convo's. Email 1: "Do you know [mutual connection]?" • Send 100 • ~40 open • ~20 respond Email 2: "They mentioned you're scaling your marketing team. I'd love to connect about [specific thing]." • Send to 20 who responded • ~15 continue engaging Email 3: "Would you mind if they made an intro?" • Ask 15 engaged prospects • ~10 intros Final score: • Approach A: No intros • Approach B: 10 intros How to Apply These Lessons (Tactical Summary): 1. Focus on Micro-Conversations: Break your cold outreach into smaller, manageable steps. Build rapport before making any asks. 2. Personalize Everything: Reference mutual connections, specific company milestones, or shared interests in every message. 3. Play the Long Game: Aim for replies in the first message.. not conversions. If you’ve been struggling with cold outreach, you might just need a new approach. Give this one a try and lmk how it goes.

My agency has sent 10,000+ emails for our clients. We've developed a simple framework to help you write emails that crush ALL industry benchmarks. Here's the Anatomy of a Profitable Email: 1) Subject line The subject line is one of the most important parts of your email. It's what gets people to open (or ignore) your email. Make sure yours is: >> Catchy >> Intriguing >> Informative >> Benefit-oriented >> Personalized (if possible) Make it impossible to ignore. 2) Preview Text Your email has 2 "subject lines." The 2nd one is the preview text. This short text is used to create curiosity in the reader. For this text, you can use anything related to your subject line. Just make sure it sparks curiosity in the reader. 3) Branding Branding is very important for Email Marketing. After all, people buy brands, not products. Your emails should be an extension of your website & other assets. Make sure to develop a few core, onbrand templates. These will help convey familiarity and build trust. 4) Headline/Header The goal of your headline is to get people's attention. You accomplish this by making people interested. There are multiple ways to do this: You can mention a discount, promotion, or even ask a question. Regardless of what you do, it HAS to be interesting. 5) Intro / Sub Header This section is also known as the lead. Its sole purpose is to keep people reading. Here are some ways to do that: >> Tell a story >> Agitate pains >> Empathize with them >> Explain what the email is about The shorter this text is, the better. 6) Content / Body This section will vary depending on the type of email you're sending. Some recommendations: >> Speak in their language >> Make use of the whitespace >> Get to the point >> Sell benefits, not features >> Mix images and text The goal is to make it engaging. 7) CTA CTAs must stand out, otherwise, people won't click them. Here's how to do that: >> Be concise >> Use active voice >> Use action verbs >> Tell them what they're getting >> Use a high-contrast color The more they stand out, the more clicks you’ll get. 8) Footer The footer is an often overlooked part of emails. Here you can include some relevant information/links for the prospect. For example: >> P.S. >> Another CTA >> Social media links >> Testimonials >> Unsubscribe link You'll be amazed by the number of clicks you get. To summarize, here are my 8 components for a profitable email: 1. Subject line 2. Preview text 3. Branding 4. Headline / Header 5. Intro / Sub Header 6. Content / Body 7. CTA's 8. Footer Thank you for reading this! Sellers who sell to IT can't wait to tell me how the rules that apply to every other persona are different for IT. They insist that IT buyers process information differently. That their analytical nature means they need more details, more complexity, and more depth in emails. 👉 On the surface, that assumption seems logical. If someone is highly technical, wouldn't they want as much information as possible? 📌 That’s where behavioral science comes in. Human behavior follows patterns, no matter the persona. Outliers exist, but they are minimal. The data is clear, when it comes to email engagement, cognitive ease wins. IT buyers aren’t special (I mean, we’re all special, but you know what I mean). Sellers who sell to IT personas love to say: ❌ "IT buyers are analytical, so they need more information in emails." ❌ "They’re smarter than the average buyer, so they can handle complex messaging." ❌ "They won’t take me seriously unless I include a ton of detail upfront." It’s all BS. Sellers think they’re doing what their buyers want. They believe IT buyers need longer, more detailed emails because they’re technical. they base those assumptions on flawed intuition and limited experience, not actual data. The data tells a different story. IT buyers are human. They scan emails just like everyone else. If you overload their brain with too much information, they won’t engage. 👉 Here’s what actually works when emailing IT buyers: - Keep it short. If your email is over 100 words, it’s probably too long. - Simplify your language. Big words don’t impress, clear ones do. - Make the ask easy to say yes to. No one wants to decode what you’re asking. Data trumps intuition when you’re building cold email strategies, even in IT. If you want to earn a response, honor what buyers actually respond to, not what you think they want. Even buyers themselves don’t always know what makes them engage, but behavioral science does. 📌 What’s one cold email myth you’ve had to unlearn? ✨ Enjoyed this post? I would bet a huge amount that the positive response rate on “Saw you liked [PERSON]’s post. Want to buy my product?!” emails is close to 0%. 😤 It’s a terrible, thought-free template. It's a disgrace to real "signal-based" outreach. Instead of referencing the person’s post and sloppily transitioning to your sales pitch, do this instead. 1. Actually read the post 2. Understand the concept 3. Think about why the concept resonated 4. Connect the dots between the concept and your value prop 5. Center your email around that dot connection Then, if you want, add this: PS. I saw you liked [PERSON]’s post on this topic. That’s what prompted my outreach. Hope I hit the mark! ——— Don’t make the reader do the work. Do it yourself, add value, stand out from the crowd. #sales #sdr

Your Email List > Social Followers. Here’s Why Chasing likes won’t grow your bottom line. If you're still prioritizing social followers over email subscribers in 2025, you’re leaving serious revenue on the table. 5 Data-Backed Reasons Email > Social 1. You own your list Social = rented audience. Email = direct access. No algorithms. No platform risks. 2. Email = 4,200% ROI $1 in = $42 out (avg.) Compare that to 29% ROI for social (mainly via paid ads). 3. Engagement > Vanity Metrics 3–5% CTR in email vs. 1–2% on social media. Segmentation = 50%+ higher CTR. 4. Long-Term Value Wins Email subscriber = $45–$60/year in LTV. Social follower? Nearly $0 without ads. 5. Real Brands. Real Results. WPBeginner: 600% list growth = 3x revenue E-comm brand: 95k subs = $1.2M in email-driven sales Adam Enfroy: 17% product conversion via email 3 Steps to Maximize Your List Convert followers → lead magnets, popups, and exit-intent offers Segment & personalize → tailor content to interests Automate revenue → cart abandonment + re-engagement flows Email isn’t just a channel. It’s your most valuable asset. Invest in your list—because algorithms don’t pay the bills. #EmailMarketing #GrowthStrategy #DigitalMarketing #ListBuilding #MarketingROI #LeadGeneration #OptinMonster #MarketingAutomation

What happens when your entire business depends on a social media’s algorithm and the rules overnight? I watched this reality happen to a founder. Over the past 12 months his business had all but dried up. Not because his product was bad or the market crashed. Because he let someone else control his audience. Here’s the story: From 2020 to 2024, this guy was crushing it on X (Twitter). His posts about real estate best practices were getting hundreds of thousands of views. And generating dozens of B2B leads per week from owners and operators. What went wrong? The algorithm changed overnight. Instead of rewarding niche B2B content. The platform started amplifying controversial posts and viral media. His reach vanished. His leads dried up. His business died. The insight: The problem wasn't the algorithm change. It was that he never owned his audience. The founders who are still thriving did the opposite. The difference? They built email lists. While everyone else was chasing likes and retweets, they turned followers into subscribers. When the platform changed the rules, they had a direct line to their customers. Here’s how to start building yours: Create something valuable in exchange for an email address. A guide, a template, a mini-course. Give people a reason. Then nurture that list: • Send regular value • Build solid relationships • Turn subscribers into customers Build the moat that the algorithm can’t guarantee. The platform will change again. But your email list will keep your business alive. Don't let someone else control your future. Own your audience. Want to learn how real estate entrepreneurs are building sustainable businesses? Our "Selling into Real Estate Owners" course teaches you how to find customers, build relationships, and create systems that don't depend on social media algorithms. Next cohort starts soon. It’s not about sending more emails; it’s about sending the right ones. For a UK-based jewelry brand, email became the star of the show, delivering incredible results in just two months: - 36.75% open rate – outperforming industry standards with messaging that truly resonated. - 4.02% click-through rate – reaching and engaging the audience where it mattered most. - 800K+ revenue increase – all within just 60 days. Here’s how we made it happen: - Understanding the audience: We got deep into what matters to British women aged 25-55—elegance, simplicity, and timeless design. The result? Emails that felt personal and aligned with the brand’s identity. - Building trust over time: Starting with 500 emails, we scaled gradually (20% daily), focusing on quality over quantity to build a strong sender reputation. - Making every email count: Follow-ups were crafted specifically for engaged users, creating a sense of connection and driving real action. This wasn’t about sending more—it was about creating thoughtful, effective campaigns that delivered results. What’s the one email marketing insight you wish you’d known sooner? In 1 month, we generated 9 qualified meetings for a Seed Fintech from Hong Kong. (4 steps we followed) 👇 My client's top 4 challenges: 1. No sales team. 2. No experience with outbound 3. They rely exclusively on inbound referrals to generate leads 4. Their targeting is fragmented: Their clients are different. Their ICP is unclear Step 1: ICP / Persona: Unclear ICP will lead you to send the wrong emails to the wrong people: Results: - No meetings - Waste time/money Good news: - Our client has clients - But they're all different To solve this pain, we ran tests We classified their different clients into specific buckets e.g. Client typology 1: → Demographic/Psychographic information → Pain points/challenges → Goals/aspirations → Buying behaviour → Communication preferences → Value proposition alignment - How’s your solution helping them? We applied this to each client they have. Step #2- Map their ICP/Persona Daily, I receive 15/20+ irrelevant cold emails Most salespeople don't do their targeting properly. 3 problems: - Poor Targeting - Low Deliverability Rates - Damaged Sender Reputation Quality data: Backbone of successful outbound campaigns - We reflected on the analysis done in Step#1 to get the right data - We validated the info with the client Step #3- Wrote problems’ centric cold emails Cold email framework: 1. Start with an observation. 2. Share a problem you derive from the observation. 3. Add credibility 4. How do you solve that problem? 5. Interest-based CTA The Secret: WIIFT W: WHAT’S I: In I: IT F: FOR T: THEM Deliver value to your prospect Step #4: Run 14 days tests Sending emails to the wrong ICP is risky when done massively. - Reaching out to a lot of wrong people, might still seduce a tiny portion of it. - That portion is not relevant To avoid it, we ran tests: - Per ICP, we selected a small sample of people - We personalize the outreach - We iterate. We: → Monitor metrics → Experiment: different subject lines, email copies → Use analytics to refine the approach. → Analyze what works best/optimize accordingly 1 month performance: → 359 emails sent → 228 emails opened → 9 meetings scheduled All within trusting the process of outbound. Pretty nice, in 2023, it was 0. TL;DR: Step #1: ICP / Persona: Step #2- Reflect that ICP/Persona into LinkedIn Sales Navigator / Apollo etc... Step #3- Wrote problems’ centric cold emailing campaigns Step #4: Run 14 days tests This is what we have used with our clients since May 2020 No magic. Execution, iteration -- PS: If you want similar start-of-the-year results running cold email campaigns in Q1 DM me “cold email” and we'll have a chat Happy Monday 🙂 Arnaud!

✅ Your Email List is Your Greatest Asset: Start Treating It Like One Why Your Email List is So Valuable 1️⃣ It’s Yours: Unlike social media or paid ads, your email list is something you own and control. You’re not subject to an algorithm or platform changes. 2️⃣ It’s Direct: Your emails land directly in your audience’s inbox, where they’re already checking for important messages. No distractions, no competition for attention. 3️⃣ It Builds Trust: When you nurture your email list with helpful, value-driven content, you build a loyal audience that trusts your expertise and is more likely to convert. 4️⃣ It’s Scalable: Whether you’re a solopreneur or running a larger business, your email list is something you can continue to grow, segment, and leverage as you expand. 5️⃣ It’s a Long-Term Asset: With every email you send, you’re building a relationship with your audience. Over time, this relationship becomes a key asset that drives revenue.
