I've been encouraging people to check their public libraries for LinkedIn Learning access for years, but that's not the only game in town. While it's available through fewer library systems, some public libraries also provide access to O'Reilly's library services. If you work in technology, data, AI, programming, cybersecurity, cloud computing, or business analytics, it's one of the best learning resources available. Covers IT, business, and project management pathways. ✅ 5. Microsoft Software and Systems Academy (MSSA) Intensive, cohort-based training for veterans pursuing careers in cloud and software development. Zero cost. ✅ 6. Amazon AWS Educate Free cloud computing curriculum. Veterans can qualify for certification test reimbursement. ✅ 7. Oracle Veteran Academy Free Oracle Cloud training and professional certifications for veterans and military spouses. ✅ 8. LinkedIn Premium Veterans get 12 months free, which includes full LinkedIn Learning access with 10,000+ courses. ✅ 9. Splunk Work+ Free Foundations 1 and 2 training for veterans and spouses, useful for data analytics and cyber roles. ✅ 10. Fortinet Veterans Program Free cybersecurity training with certifications (NSE 1, 2, and optional 4) for qualifying military members. Augmented reality (AR), virtual reality, and three-dimensional tools are applied to improve training and troubleshooting at GE Aerospace. Looking ahead, AR eyeglasses, remote support, and agentic #AI could work together to provide real-time, contextual guidance. At the Customer Technical Education Center, GE Aerospace has used 3D tools and AR to transform training for service bulletins on the CFM #LEAP reverse bleed system retrofit. By converting a 600-page field manual into visual AR instructions that show where parts are located, how to remove and install them, training time has been reduced from five days to about three. Three-dimensional visual work instructions also helped trainees work nearly seven times faster. Teams using AR removed 35 parts in the first three hours, compared with five parts using a traditional text-based manual. GE Aerospace has used this technology to train customers. At the Pune, India facility, AR weld simulators are helping train apprentice welders in a risk-free environment without using raw materials. Compared with traditional classroom instruction, training time has been reduced by 20%, while precision has improved, errors have decreased, and operational readiness has accelerated. Digital visualization technologies can improve productivity, enhance quality, and accelerate training by combining contextual information with interactive learning for operators and customers.

TECHNOLOGY BEHIND, EFFECTIVE SAFETY TRAINING. Technology plays a crucial role in standard safety training, enhancing how organizations train employees to manage workplace hazards and risks. Over the years, technological advancements have transformed traditional safety practices into more interactive, efficient, and effective learning experiences. One of the most significant shifts has been the integration of e-learning platforms. These platforms allow employees to access safety training modules anytime, anywhere. Whether it's NEBOSH, OSHA, or HSE certifications, e-learning provides flexibility, especially for global companies where employees may be spread across different time zones. Interactive quizzes, video tutorials, and simulations can make learning more engaging, helping participants retain knowledge better than through traditional lectures. Virtual reality (VR) is another cutting-edge technology that is changing the way safety training is delivered. With VR, workers can immerse themselves in realistic, simulated environments where they can practice responding to hazardous situations. For example, construction workers can go through scaffold safety drills in a risk-free virtual environment, enabling them to learn without the dangers of a real-world setting. VR allows workers to experience dangerous situations first-hand, helping them prepare for emergencies. In addition, augmented reality (AR) is becoming a popular tool in safety training. With AR, digital elements are superimposed onto the real world, enhancing the learning experience. For instance, workers can use AR headsets that overlay safety instructions while performing tasks, ensuring they follow proper protocols step by step. This real-time guidance reduces the chance of mistakes and improves overall safety compliance. Another important innovation is data analytics. Modern safety training programs are often integrated with systems that track employee progress, analyze their performance, and identify areas that need improvement. By using data-driven insights, companies can customize training for individuals or teams, ensuring that each worker gets the targeted instruction they need. Finally, mobile apps have simplified access to safety training resources. Employees can complete safety courses, track certifications, and access emergency procedures right from their smartphones. In conclusion, technology has revolutionized standard safety training, making it more accessible, interactive, and personalized. Tools like e-learning platforms, VR, AR, and data analytics have made it easier for organizations to ensure their workforce is well-prepared for safety challenges in any industry.

Many people expected generative search to even the playing field for written content. The reality is that rich media is quickly becoming the preferred source of training data. Studies comparing major knowledge bases and community forums to leading video platforms show that video now drives nearly twice as many visits from AI systems as text-based resources combined. Why? Video delivers nuance, emotion and context that static text often lacks. When models look for a definitive answer or an explainer, they may choose a richly produced video over a short paragraph on a wiki or message board. This doesn't mean you should abandon articles or guides: those still matter for traditional search. It does mean you should diversify your content portfolio: record product demos, customer testimonials and explainer clips. Use clear speech and descriptive visuals so the audio and imagery can be transcribed and understood by machine learning systems. And when you publish, accompany your video with accurate transcripts and metadata. By embracing rich media alongside well-structured written content, you become more discoverable across both generative and classic search modes. Remember that not all videos are equally valuable: shorter clips that answer a specific question often perform better than long promotional pieces. If you work in a regulated industry, ensure your content is accurate and compliant. Experiment with educational webinars and live Q&A sessions: these generate transcripts that enrich training data. By treating video as a teaching tool, you help both models and users grasp complex topics.
